Welcome to Ardallan Kitchen — a neighbourhood café bistro serving seasonal food with fun & North East charm.

When I opened Ardallan Kitchen in the old Victorian stables behind my home, I wanted it to feel like dropping in to see a friend — somewhere you can relax over a proper breakfast, a generous brunch, or a comforting lunch. Our menus change with the seasons and are built around ingredients from trusted local suppliers, freshly-baked sourdough bread, & house-made drinks that keep regulars coming back week-after-week.

By day, the kitchen hums with the sound of coffee being poured and sourdough coming out of the oven. You’ll find classic dishes done properly — from our Eggs Benedict and shakshuka to the Ardallan Rarebit and our Gateshead floddies - a revived local favourite. Everything is cooked to order and served by people who care about what they do.
